Pretty good March 2, 2010 E. Jones (UK) These have excellent sound for their size. The only drawback is they have no on/off switch. They do have a mute button but when I restart my comp the sound is back on. Not a prob in the daytime but a nuisance when the babe is asleep and I forgot my sound is back on.
Not the best quality, but best value for money February 15, 2010 Jonas Petrauskas (Surrey) I bought these speakers so I wouldn't need an extra power socket and the idea to plug them into USB works fine. They produce a decent loudness to fill my tiny room, but for larger halls or making your own dance floor I'd find them insufficient. And the sound controls don't work very responsive there are buttons instead of knob.
It was a huge quality step up after I plugged these in. Much more bass and more quality treble compared to my standard laptop speakers. I was rediscovering most of my songs as they all got some extra fidelity. However, you could feel some distortion in the songs which have a good quality instrumental part (eg. a piano solo) especially if you want them to play with little sound on.
To sum up, if you have only 10 pounds budget for your speakers, these are the ones you should go for.
Big sound from such small boxes February 13, 2010 J. Hyslop These are not five star but the best and practical speakers for netbook or Laptop you'll be surprised
Small price, Big Value, Big sound! February 9, 2010 Mr. G. R. Murrell After buying a brand new Dell Inspiron and not realising external speakers were'nt included, I searched around the net for something that would match the new sleek black glossy monitor that came with the desktop.
i did the usual, searched ebay etc and then found the same speakers (these) on Amazon for a seemingly silly low price and thought what the hell, if they are rubbish then I have'nt lost a fortune.
I am happy to report that not only do they look good and match the desktop setup perfectly, they sound great too!.
You can control the volume from your desktop or on the 3 buttons on the front of one of the speakers, up/down volume and mute.
I think these are very stylish speakers and I can highly recommend them for the bargain price. 10/10
Perfect for the job! February 6, 2010 Fred Scheit (Manchester, United Kingdom) I had previously purchased an Acer Aspire Revo Net-top computer - for those that don't know, it's like a version of a netbook, but it's a desk-top . . .
Anyway, it didn't come with a monitor or speakers.
I already had a monitor to use, but no suitable speakers.
I wanted speakers that plugged into a USB port and not using a standard audio jack.
This fits the bill perfectly; just plugged in into a spare USB port on the Revo, and it was up and running in seconds.
The volume is excellent, although due to size/construction the sound is trebly (no real bass), but I could compensate with the audio settings on the computer.
As I said, perfect for the job, and I recommend these speakers!
