5 out of 5 stars brilliant belkin   August 31, 2010

The belkin easy transfer cable did exactly what it claimed to do. It was fantastic and easy to use for someone who isn't very IT literate. Everything from my old computer was easily transfered to the new one. Pictures, emails, contacts were all there and more. It was absolutely brilliant!!!

5 out of 5 stars belkin really easy transfer cable!   August 13, 2010

Not sure what to say. i cannot believe it was so was so easy to copy all the data from my old XP desktop to my new Windows 7 all in one. It took around 1.5 hours but there is nothing you need to do once you have followed the straightforward instructions, just have a cup of tea and relax. If there is a catch I do not see it. The Amazon price made this an utter no brainer. I am still smiling. My family think I am an IT whizzkid!

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as painted   August 13, 2010

A data cable that attachs from your old pc to your new one and allows you to migrate all your files and settings from XP to W7, what a great idea. That's what I thought and so I bought one. Installation of the software on my old pc was easy and off it went, for several hours until it hung and my old pc froze up. I appreciate that could be a failure on the pc's part but when I checked afterwards I found the software had left several directories untouched including over 2000 photos. As I said, it could have been the old pc's fault but the software seemed to have no way to tell me what had been transferred and what hadn't. I ended up using my son's portable hard drive and manually transferring the files. To its credit however it did transfer my iTunes library and playlists although it left some music behind. With more and more people storing their music libraries on their pcs nowadays this could be its biggest selling point.

5 out of 5 stars migrating to a new computer is so easy with Belkin Easy Transfer Cable   August 8, 2010

when I bought a new PC I was dreading the transfer from my old machine but it was so easy with Belkin Easy Transfer Cable. I simply plugged the cable into my new PC which then automatically downloaded software from the Internet. I was then asked to insert the CD from the package into my old PC. Then simply connect both PCs with the cable and with a few clicks the automated software does the rest! Easy!

1 out of 5 stars Belkin Uneasy   July 22, 2010

I managed to corrupt all my files on both computers. It seemed to allocate all files a non-existant E drive, rendering them unavailable. I found it worse than useless. The software that came with it already came with the new laptop.
